“LETTUCE” TELL YOU ABOUT OUR GARDEN
LSU Agriculture students, led by Professor Carl Motsenbocker, GCCS students and their families are growing The Gardere Family Garden together, giving our students the opportunity to learn hands-on lessons in science, nutrition and stewardship. A big thank you to Motsenbocker, who donated the soil, and Naylor’s Hardware and Garden Center, who donated vegetable plants and supplies! The garden installation, spearheaded by Julia Kebanli, GCCS AmeriCorps member, includes four raised flower beds. Students, staff and families are enjoying the leafy growing plants such as beets, radishes, lettuce and even new spinach sprouts as they share in the delights of a special place right in the middle of their own community!
